'Happyness'-tips
« Gepost op: augustus 17, 2004, 11:48:43 am »
Dit verhaal kreeg ik van een Canadees familielid op de mail. Altijd handig, wat geniet-tips. En je leert er nog Engels van ook....

Hello there! Since we know that everyone loves surveys (), here's a twist on an old favourite. As Christians, we have so much to be happy for, but so often we look at the negative things in life. So, we've decided that with your help we can create a list of things to be happy for or about. We're sure all of you have something that makes you smile, so add it to the list.
If you like, forward this message on to as many people as you like, so that THEY can share their 'happy thoughts', too!  (If you've recieved this as a forward, reply to happiness_is_@hotmail.com with your thought, name, hometown and how often you'd like to recieve an update.)

Thanks, people!
Jolene + Chris

Some famous people said that happiness is...
Independence is happiness. (Susan B. Anthony - American suffragist and abolitionist 1820-1906)
... having a large, loving, caring, close-knit family in another city. (George Burns - American vaudeville comedian and actor 1896-1996)
... to be dissolved into something completely great. (Willa Cather - American teacher and author 1873-1947)
... something to do, something to love, and something to hope for. (Allan K. Chalmers)
... it seems to me, consists of two things: first, in being where you belong, and second - and best - in comfortably going through everyday life, that is, having had a good night's sleep and not being hurt by new shoes. (Theodor Fontane - German poet and novelist 1819-1898)
... when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony. (Mohandas K. Gandhi - British/Indian politician 1869-1948)
.. not so much in having as sharing. We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. (Norman MacEwan)
... not in the mere possession of money; it lies in the joy of achievement, in the thrill of creative effort. (Franklin D. Roosevelt - 32nd American president 1882-1945)
... to love and be loved. (George Sand - French Romantic writer 1804-1876)
... nothing more than good health and a bad memory. (Albert Schweitzer - German philosopher, physician, humanitarian 1875-1965)
... a Swedish sunset -- it is there for all, but most of us look the other way and lose it. (Mark Twain - American author 1835-1910)
